Common Questions About Our Leadership Circles

Who can participate in the Leadership Circles?

Both Circles are open to all interested participants and are designed to center the voices of communities most impacted by exclusionary practices.

  • The Student Leadership Circle prioritizes participation from students most affected by ableism and racism—especially Black students with IEPs and students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

  • The Parent & Caregiver Leadership Circle welcomes parents and caregivers of students with disabilities (including IDD), Black and multicultural families, and any caregivers who are passionate about advancing inclusion, belonging, and equity in schools.

When do the Leadership Circles meet, and how long are the sessions?

Both the Student and Parent Leadership Circles meet four times during the 2025–2026 school year for 60-minute virtual sessions.

Specific dates and times will be shared in advance, with sessions scheduled to accommodate a variety of family and student schedules.

How do I access the virtual sessions?

To access sessions you'll need a device with internet connection (computer, tablet, or smartphone) and a quiet space. We'll provide simple instructions for joining the virtual meetings, and technical support is available if needed.

When are the drawings held, and what can participants receive?

Drawings for survey participants will take place on December 31, 2025, March 31, 2026, and June 30, 2026.

Everyone who completes the feedback survey is automatically entered. At each drawing:

  • Two families will each receive a $100 gift card
  • One scholar will win a prize for their school

These drawings are our way of saying thank you for sharing your insights and helping us better understand community experiences.

All incentives are provided electronically and are intended as a token of appreciation, not as employment or taxable income.
